Privacy
Privacy policy
Plain terms for a game about overcomplicated terms.
What we collect
OpenIdle stores your game progress locally on your device or browser. We collect anonymous gameplay analytics if you opt in, and — in the installed mobile app only — the advertising service we use collects data to show rewarded ads. We never ask for an account, a name, or an email to play.
Analytics
We use PostHog (EU region) for anonymous gameplay analytics. There are no accounts, autocapture is disabled, and we never record your screen. You choose whether to share analytics the first time you launch the app, and you can change it anytime in Settings → Privacy. Analytics events are not tied to any account, name, or email. We use your IP address to estimate your approximate location (country or region) so we can see where players are; PostHog discards the raw IP address and does not retain it.
Advertising
The installed mobile app shows optional rewarded ads through Google AdMob. Ads are non-personalized by default; personalization is opt-in only. Whether or not you opt in, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects approximate location (derived from your IP address), app interactions, diagnostics, and device or advertising identifiers, and shares them with Google for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. Opting into personalization changes how that data is used, not whether it is collected. The web version shows no ads and loads no advertising code. You can review Google's ad controls at adssettings.google.com.
Game saves
Web progress is stored in browser storage for app.openidle.ai. Installed progress is stored through the platform storage used by the app. Deleting the app, clearing site data, or changing browser profiles may remove local progress.
Data security
All data is encrypted in transit using TLS.
Your choices and data deletion
Opting out of analytics or ad personalization in Settings → Privacy stops further collection. Uninstalling the app or clearing site data removes your local save. To request deletion of anything that remains, see our data deletion page or email support@dawnsurferstudios.com.
